Testing for PPWR Compliance

πŸ’‘
Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation From 12 August 2026, packaging that does not meet the substance requirements shall not be placed on the EU market.
The manufacturers need to ensure that the concentration of the targeted substances in the packaging or packaging components is reduced to the minimum level. Additionally, the total concentration of Pb, Cd, Hg, and Cr (VI) in the packaging or packaging components must not exceed 100 mg/kg of the packaging. In addition, from 12 August 2026, food-contact packaging containing PFAS in a concentration equal to or above the limit values specified in Article 5(5) shall not be placed on the EU market.
To ensure compliance with the PPWR, we provide testing services for various types of packaging, including heavy-metal testing and PFAS analysis, to help manufacturers verify compliance with the applicable substance requirements.
Choosing a trusted laboratory can make the testing process for your packaging as smooth and efficient as possible. Proper testing can help identify potential non-compliance issues and support manufacturers in meeting the PPWR requirements before placing their packaging on the EU market.
